JV VB Comes Through in the Clutch
Your JV Lady Lions hosted the always tough, and conference rival, the Jefferson Wolverines on Tuesday. In Set 1, Lisle was led by outstanding all-around play from Alaina Schroeder, Jaya Claussen, Samantha Buchelt, Emily Bieniasz, Avery Pecak, and Lily Rocha. In that first Set, Lisle jumped out to an early lead, and eventually prevailed by the count of twenty five to sixteen. In Set 2, Lisle decided they wanted to treat the fans to a third set, as they fell behind early and eventually fell by the count of twenty five to thirteen. This setup a dramatic, tension-filled third set, where Lisle battled back and forth with the Wolverines, but ultimately what made the difference were some great plays by Samantha Buchelt and a key late serve by Zoey Buchelt, that gave the Lions an extremely hard fought fifteen to eleven Set 3 and Match victory.
This win moves the girls' record to four wins and only two defeats heading into two consecutive road contests at Burr Ridge today, and at Cass tomorrow. The JV will play their last leadoff match today, before they begin playing second on Thursday.
