JV VB Loses a Heartbreaker
Yesterday, in their last home game of the season, your JV Lady Lions Volleyball Team played host to the Gower Gladiators. This match turned out to be about as even as you could imagine and went down to the final point in two of the three Sets. In Set 1, Lisle had tremendous contributions from Emily Bieniasz, Lily Rocha and Collins Weaver to help rally the Lions to a twenty six to twenty four win. Set 2 saw the Lions start slow, but good all around efforts from Hailey Sullivan, Jaya Claussen, and Emily Bieniasz got the girls back into it mid-Set, but Gower eventually pulled away winning twenty five to fourteen. This setup a dramatic third Set, where the match hung in the balance all the way to the last point. Once again, Bieniasz and Rocha put Lisle in position to win with outstanding serves and had the Set tied at fourteen with the serve. Unfortunately, Gower was able to win the next two points and escape with a sixteen to fourteen victory over your Lions.
This loss moves the girls' record to seven wins and four defeats heading into their final game of the season at Eisenhower on Thursday.
