JV VB Advances in IESA Regional
This past Saturday, your fifth-seeded JV Lady Lion volleyballers took on fourth-seeded Rockford Barbour. In a battle of Lions, it was those from Lisle that stood tall. The Lions used dominating serves from Lily Rocha, Alaina Schroeder, and Jaya Claussen to lead the Lions to a twenty five to sixteen Set 1 victory. Other key contributors in the first Set were Rose Helderle, Samantha Buchelt, Zoe Buchelt, Emily Bieniasz, Avery Pecak, and Olivia Pecak. The second Set saw Lisle build a commanding lead, but Rockford battled back and almost overtook your Lions. In the end, Lise held on for a twenty five to twenty two Set and Match victory. Set 2 had several strong contributors. Leading the way were Collins Weaver, Norah Roth, Elliott Parks, Keyshawna Lucas, and Jennifer Duban.
This win improves the girls’ record to seven wins and two defeats, and advances them into the semifinals of the IESA Regional, where on Tuesday, they will face the number one-seeded Kelvin Grove Hornets who have a fifteen and one record heading into this contest. If the Lions prevail, they will play for the Regional Championship on Wednesday.
