JV VB Pushes #1 Seed to the Limit
Yesterday, in front of a standing room only crowd in Crest Hill, your Lady Lions took on the #1-seeded Kelvin Grove Hornets in an extremely intense regional semifinal. Lisle faced very tall odds as the Hornets entered the contest winning fifteen of their sixteen matches this season. But Lisle refused to be-stung, and proved more than a handful for the Hornets, as they led midway through the first Set, then rallied, and trailed 22-23 with the serve. Unfortunately, KG was able to win the next two points and barely escape with a Set 1 win by the count of twenty five to twenty two. In Set 2, Lisle was not able to match the same intensity and fell by the count of twenty five to sixteen.
Coach Schmidt is extremely proud of this group as they gave the Hornets all they could handle and played so very hard trying to advance to the Regional Championship.
This loss moves the girls’ record on the season to seven wins and three defeats heading into their final two SDEAA conference games.
