Illinois Top Times Indoor Championships 3/2/2022
Competing against the best 1A track and field competition in the state of Illinois, the FMCHS track and field athletes had a record-breaking day!! The Griffins had two meet champions in freshman Mia Range (high jump) at 1.61 [5' 3.25"], and freshman Elena Rybak (1600m) in 5:08. The 4 x 800m relay team of Kaityln Hatley, Jane Cummins, Alyssa Terhaar and Rybak medaled in 4th in 10:15.5. Jacob Huber finished 11th in the 400m in 54.78 [4/10ths of a second from a medal], Hatley 16th in the 400m in 1:04.9 (personal best), and Lilly Gilbertson 17th in the 200m in 28.47.
This is the first time the track and field teams have competed in this prestigious end-of-the-season championship meet. Invitation-only for the top times in the state!
This concludes the indoor track/field competition; outdoor season begins Tuesday, March 29 at Highland.
