Coach Dron was a high school and DI cross-country and track athlete. He then coached at Queen of Peace, Sandburg, UIC College Prep and now at Solorio. His mission is to do everything in his power to have runners find their potential and limits. His philosophy is to be committed to excellence, to do your best at getting better, to show up do the work and be a good person. He hopes to build character through teambuilding and volunteering. 

Coach Dron is also the Head Boys Track and Field Coach

Getting to know Coach Dron:

Why did you get into coaching?

I am a huge fan of running and I find the value in being a student-athlete. I want my athletes to hit new heights and do things they never thought they were capable of through a commitment to excellence. 

What are your goals for your program/team?

My goal is to believe in all my runners and to have them believe in themselves, to be the best teammates to each other, to PR,and to smile and enjoy the ride.   

What is your favorite part of coaching at Solorio?

I love watching a runner PR because it advertises to everyone what is possible and reinforces the belief in themselves. The smiles on their faces makes it all worth it.
