JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL
ROCKFORD LUTHERAN SCHOOL WILL BE STARTING JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL.
WE ARE STARTING THIS PROGRAM IN THE FALL OF 2023. WE WILL BE PART OF THE NORTHERN ILLINOIS FOOTBALL CONFERENCE (NIFC). WE ARE SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY AND LOOKING FORWARD TO BUILDING FROM THIS PROGRAM. WE WILL HAVE A SHORT INFORMATIONAL MEETING TOMORROW, TUESDAY 2/7/2023 RIGHT AFTER SCHOOL. THIS WILL BE JUST A QUICK 10-15 MEETING OF THOSE IN GRADES 6TH AND 7TH THAT WOULD BE INTERESTED IN PLAYING. THE MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE ATHLETIC OFFICE. PLEASE CALL IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS.

BASS FISHING | Varsity
Gary Gessner, Head Varsity Coach
Lutheran team placed 3rd at the 2014 Sectional and won the 2013 Sectional.
In 2013 Lutheran High School's Chris Gessner and Adam Carlson had a two bass weight of 3.95 pounds to capture the RockCut Challenge under the supervision of team captain Tim Hamilton. That's how it read in the Sunday paper on August 21st in the Register Star. Adding to that, Bridgette Clark and Adam Kellen took third place along with captain Gary Gessner with one keeper bass.
Rockford Lutheran High School won the IHSA Sectional Tournament on May 22, 2011 that was also held on Pierce Lake. Congratulations to the team on their first tournament big win! Adam Carlson and Will Schwanke teamed up with captain Brad Olson to beat the surrounding Rockford teams along with team members Adam Kellen and Bridgette Clark and captain Tim Hamilton.
The 2013 Rockford Lutheran team is being coached by Gary Gessner and Liz Carlson, with a handful of other helpers that are making Tounament Bass Fishing a real sport at RLS.
