Chess Team Finishes 3rd at NICL Tournament
The 2022-23 season has been successful for our Auburn Chess Team. We started with a 2 Win-2 Loss record at the Sterling Invite. In the Northern Illinois Chess League, we had a 4 Win-1 Loss record. We finished the 2022-part of the season with a 3 Win-1 Loss record at the Huntley Invite.
This past weekend, our team placed third at the Northern Illinois Chess League conference tournament. Our record was 3 Wins and 1 Loss. Going into the conference tournament we were ranked fourth. Our present record is 12 Wins and 5 Losses.
Auburn will be hosting the IHSA Sectional on January 28th. Two weeks later, we hopefully will be heading to the State Championship in Peoria.
