Shamrocks Win Conference Opener
Despite falling behind by two goals early, the Varsity Soccer Shamrocks battled back to defeat a strong Carmel Catholic squad by the score of 4-2.
Goal #1 was scored by junior Jorge Parra, assisted by senior Nicolas Leon.
Goal #2 was scored by senior Nicolas Leon, assisted by junior Jorge Parra.
Goal #3 was scored by junior Jorge Parra off a penalty kick after junior Daniel Carrera was fouled in the box.
Goal #4 was scored by junior Chriz Perez, assisted by senior Gael Quinonez.
Senior goalkeeper Jeadan Calderon played very well in his debut, making five saves before exiting the game due to injury a few minutes into the second half. Senior goalkeeper Anthony Torres followed suit, making five nice saves himself to ensure the victory.
The “MVP” was junior Jorge Parra and the “Hardest Worker” was senior Nicolas Leon.
The Varsity Soccer Shamrocks improve to 1-3-3 overall and a perfect 1-0-0 in conference.
